Last night, Customs House played host to the idea09 exhibition opening party. The red carpet adorned the stairs and there was a definite excitement in the air. As guests gathered to view the multiple screens that showcased the 275 shortlisted projects and products in the 12 categories, it was evident that the calibre of projects and products this year was particularly outstanding.
As one of the many events that are a part of Idea Week, this exhibition is a prelude to the major event of the week: the idea09 party at The ivy, where the winners of the year-long competition will be announced to a capacity crowd.
This exhibition is a must-see event as much for the general public as the design aficionado, as it highlights and celebrates the breadth of talent that is currently working in Australia today.
The exhibition is currently on show at Customs House, Circular Quay, Sydney and will be open to the public until 22 November 2009.
